Who We Are

Helping Hands for the Disabled NYC serves people with special needs, particularly the totally blind. They help people by providing them with opportunities to work with volunteers on a one-to-one basis.

What We Do


Volunteer with Helping Hands for the Disabled of NYC

Minimum Age: 16+

Volunteer Opportunity Available: Volunteers will help disabled adults with shopping, running errands, and reading mail to the blind. A volunteer orientation is required.
Volunteers will commit to a once per week 3-hour sessions to read to members either in their homes or in a nearby public location.

Timeframe: Mondays - Sundays; Morning, Midday, Afternoon, Evening
