Who We Are
Hospice companion volunteers visit with our patients in their homes or nursing homes. These visits provide companionship to our patients and provide much needed relief to primary caregivers to take time for self-care.
What We Do
Volunteer with AccentCare:
Minimum Age: 18+
Volunteer Opportunity Available: Volunteers will help with companionship for Hospice Patients; this incudes reading to patients, playing games, storytelling, and can sometimes include light house work. Light housework could include meal prep and yard work.
Because volunteers are working with vulnerable populations, volunteers will need to pass a background check, a drug screening, TB test, physical, and online educational videos.
Timeframe:
Mondays; Morning, Midday, Afternoon, Evening
Tuesdays; Morning, Midday, Afternoon, Evening
Wednesdays; Morning, Midday, Afternoon, Evening
Thursdays; Morning, Midday, Afternoon, Evening
Fridays; Morning, Midday, Afternoon, Evening
